Never Choose Awkward Games


After Charades game, many more games have entered into the market and you can find a lot of games from the shelves of the store. You can also have gender specific and age specific games. You will be even amazed to find few games that were even played by you in those days, but those games have undergone change now to suit the need of present day’s faster life.

Certain old fashioned games may not get the required acceptance from the guests and it may lead to an uncomfortable situation. You should not allow any of your selection (of games) to rob the festive mood of the guests. So, to achieve the desired result, you should choose only those games that are suitable for every one and are not capable of raising any conflicts.

Also, you should take care in selection of games by keeping in mind the capabilities of the guests who play the games. For example, the Twister game will not be appreciated by people who are obese or by persons who are physically challenged - and eventually turn out be the bad selection due to poor participation.

One of your guests may be confined to a wheel chair for obvious reasons. Under such circumstances, a game such as Twister or Musical Chair will certainly throw an uncomfortable or awkward situation leading to unpleasantness. This can even hurt the feelings and spoil the entire mood of the participants - and eventually lead to a bad baby shower experience.

There are also scope of certain people to have fears or phobias towards certain situations. For example, one of the guests might have had a very traumatic pinata experience as a child, and therefore runs out of the room screaming when he/she sees one of them flying through the air.

Though you are not expected to know all these details or anticipate such extremities, you can think of other ideas to counter such situation. One such idea is to have a backup of few more games, which can be swapped in case of necessity.

Keep a few back-up games in reserve. They will come very handy, just in case you detect that people are uncomfortable with the choices. Though it may sound trivial, it can truly make a vast difference in an unanticipated awkward situation.
