As a new member is to join the family, baby shower party is way to express the happiness and the joy of the special occasion. In this tradition the expected parents would receive the gifts or money for their expected child,
which would be of great help and also support to purchase all required things (that they may not be able to afford) that they may need for their newborn baby.


As there are cultural beliefs among people to wait purposefully for the babies’ arrival before having a baby shower. Incase of adoptive parents, wait for final adoption or till the baby has arrived in their home. Baby showers are usually held in later stages of pregnancy (last 2 months)

As baby showers are center of gift giving, it usually not organized by family members as they act the host, whereas relative, close friends or the co-workers of the expectant parents organize the whole event. As per the tradition baby showers were held only for the first child, where it was an event exclusively for mothers-to-be, where only women were invited to attend the party.

Whereas now baby showers party are organized for every succeeding children, where not only mothers, but also both the parents are invited.Games, presents, special activities and more specifically food form play a major role in a good Baby shower party

As mentioned below are common recipes for Baby shower party

Pizza Sandwiches

Ingredients

* Pizza sauce (can be store-bought or homemade)
* Cottage cheese (low fat)
* English muffins
* Parmesan cheese

Mix 2-3 tbsp of pizza sauce with 2-3 tbsp of cottage cheese. Spread the mixture onto one half of the English muffin. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Broil for 5 minutes or until cheese is melted. Serve.

Creamy Tomato Soup

Ingredients

*1 tsp vegetable oil
*1 can tomato soup (condensed)
*Milk
*1 tbsp basil
*Mozarella or croutons (for toppings)

Heat vegetable oil in a medium saucepan. Add the tomato soup. Add milk (approximately the same amount as that of the tomato soup). Add basil and cook slowly on low heat (do not boil). Top with a sprinkling of shredded mozzarella and croutons. Serve.

Cheese Balls

Ingredients

*½ lb cheese (cheddar or grated)
*1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
*1 pack cream cheese
*4 oz Tabasco sauce
*2 tsp onion
*Chopped nuts
*2 tsp catsup or chili sauce

Mix all ingredients together using a mixer or a food processor (the cheese should be at room temperature). Empty mixed ingredients on small bowls lined with plastic wrap. Refrigerate overnight. To serve, remove wrap and sprinkle with nuts. Serve with assorted crackers.

Chicken Puffs

Ingredients

*4 tbsp butter
*½ cup boiling water
*½ cup flour
*2 eggs
*½ cup shredded cheese
*2 cups cooked chicken
*2 tbsp olives
*2 tbsp wine
*¼ cup mayonnaise

Melt butter in boiling water. Add flour. Stir vigorously until mixture forms a ball. Remove from heat and cool slightly. Add egg and beat briskly until smooth. Stir in cheese. Scoop 1 tsp dough into a greased baking sheet. Preheat oven to 400°F.Bake the puffs for 20 minutes.

Remove from oven, cool, and split. Combine the remaining ingredients with the finely chopped cooked chicken, pimiento, and olives. Fill each puff with 2 tsp of the mixtureServe.Apart from these recipes there are numerous others from Finger foods to sandwiches or snacks and dips, which are easy to prepare.
